About
A clear award for the pleasure of tasting
Good Taste Awards exists to answer one focused question: how much do relevant people enjoy the sensory experience of a food or drink product under blind tasting?

The award does not combine taste with health, safety, nutrition, sustainability, price, packaging, service, venue, producer reputation or commercial scale. Keeping those subjects outside the star makes the result clear enough to explain and verify.
The panel is built around the product's established intended audience. Screened potential consumers and food enthusiasts remain a strict majority at every decision point.
Relevant professionals also contribute. They give one equally weighted Overall Liking response and may support sensory explanation and bounded confirmation. Professional status never creates a heavier preference vote.
Products are anonymously coded and presented without brand, identity-bearing packaging, price or expected result. Each assessor records an independent response before discussion.
A defined decision system determines the candidate. Products that remain in consideration for higher recognition are assessed by progressively more people, from eight valid responses at the initial stage to twenty-four on the final stage.
One, Two and Three Stars provide clear levels of individual product taste recognition. Every product with a completed first assessment also receives a defined comment.
The comment explains the sensory experience without becoming a second score. This means participation still produces considered evidence when a product does not receive a star.
Twenty-four Public Primary Categories organize entry, preparation and discovery. Each product follows its own assessment evidence and can be recognized without defeating another entry.
Category character helps people describe an experience. It does not require every product to fit a technical ideal.
Good Taste Awards owns and governs its standards, terminology, document identities, panel structure, decision rules, evidence model, category system and publication architecture.
Public explanations link to the relevant standards, dated versions, definitions and product records. Readers can move from a practical summary to the detailed method without having to search through unrelated documents.
Entrants cannot choose or veto assessors. Identity control, preparation, panel facilitation, candidate calculation, result authorization and independent review are separated where combining them would create conflicting power.
Conflicts, temporary sensory fitness and procedural incidents are recorded and resolved through defined pathways. A result is not released merely because a tasting took place.
The method can support varied foods, drinks, traditions and consumption contexts because it defines the intended audience and representative method before assignment.
It does not claim a universal human flavour standard. Every result remains within the assessed product and interpretation boundary.
The public can read the method, panel rules, star meanings, sample controls, claims limits and governance. confirmed products can be searched and verified.
Individual assessor responses, private identities, conflicts, entry-specific instructions and restricted review evidence remain protected. Transparency should make the claim checkable without making participation unsafe or confidential evidence public.
Explore the method if you want to understand how a response becomes a result. Check eligibility if you are considering an entry. Search awarded products if you are looking for something worth tasting.
