Entry Steps

A numbered sample presented for blind assessment
  1. 01

    Check eligibility

Confirm that the entry is a human food or drink, has one definable product identity and intended audience, and can be assessed blind in a stable representative state.

Do this before creating a transaction. Category choice cannot make an ineligible product eligible.

  2. 02

    Define the product

Identify the exact product, flavour, form and ordinary marketed unit. Separate entries are required where a material difference could produce a different sensory experience.

Use an accurate display name. Leave awards, promotional superlatives and claims out of the assessed-product identity.

  3. 03

    Choose the closest category

Choose one main product category according to ordinary consumption identity, dominant sensory structure and representative preparation. Then select the closest Product Type where the entry form asks for it.

Good Taste Awards confirms the method assignment. A category helps prepare and find the product; it does not set the result.

  4. 04

Describe how the product should be experienced

Provide storage, preparation, service, target-consumer and participation information. State temperatures, times, ratios or endpoints where they materially affect the experience.

Keep instructions reproducible and focused on the submitted product. Do not send a promotional recipe or ask the panel to compare the product with a named competitor.

  5. 05

    Review the fee and inclusions

The secure entry service shows the current published fee and payment condition. Review what the participation includes and which services, if any, sit outside the ordinary entry.

Payment does not guarantee eligibility, a valid shipment, progression, a star or a favourable comment.

  6. 06

    Submit the secure entry

Provide the required organization, product and declaration information. Review names carefully: an product name may later appear in the result communication, certificate or public record.

The entry is confirmed only when the secure system records the applicable acceptance state. A saved form, pending payment or receipt of an automated message is not necessarily an accepted product entry.

  7. 07

Wait for the shipment instruction for that product

Do not send samples before receiving the instruction. It identifies the code, required units, supply configuration, packaging, condition, destination and delivery channel for the accepted entry.

Generic web guidance prepares you to pack correctly but does not replace the entry-specific instruction.

  8. 08

Pack, identify and send the sample

Use normal production units that represent the entered product. Protect the product from breakage, leakage, temperature failure, cross-contact and avoidable deterioration. Apply the required identifiers to the correct levels of packaging.

Do not include branded gifts, promotional materials, price information or messages to assessors.

  9. 09

    Follow receipt and discrepancy status

At receipt, Good Taste Awards reconciles the delivery with the entry and checks quantity, identity, condition and evidence required by the instruction.

A discrepancy may lead to hold, partial acceptance, replacement, refusal or another recorded status. It does not create a lower star ceiling. If more supply is required, send it only through the confirmed replacement or staged-supply pathway.

  10. 10

    The assessment takes place

The product is coded, stored, prepared and served through its assigned pathway. The initial stage contains eight valid independent responses. A higher candidate may progress to twelve, sixteen and twenty-four.

Entrants do not receive panel identities, live scores or provisional outcomes. Contact with the team cannot influence assignment or progression.

  11. 11

Receive the confirmed result and comment

After assessment and result authorization, the secure account provides the result communication and written product comment. Every completed first assessment receives a comment.

Only an confirmed star may be claimed. An expectation, panel remark, provisional text or account status is not permission to use an award mark.

  12. 12

    Use the proper next pathway

Awarded products follow the award-mark and public-record instructions. An entrant who identifies a process, calculation, data, product-scope, comment-accuracy or publication issue may use the review process.

A review can correct a supported error. It does not replace a valid taste judgment with a new preference vote.
